InnerZero: Free Private AI Assistant for Windows, Mac, and Linux

Today we're launching InnerZero. It's a free AI assistant that runs entirely on your PC. No cloud servers. No subscriptions. No data collection. Just you and your AI.

I built InnerZero because I wanted an AI that was genuinely mine. Not one that sends every conversation to a server farm. Not one that forgets me every session. Not one that charges me monthly for the privilege of being watched.

What you get

InnerZero is a full-featured AI assistant. It runs open-source AI models directly on your hardware using Ollama. When you download InnerZero, everything is handled for you. It detects your hardware, picks the right model, and configures itself.

Here's what's included:

• Text and voice chat. Type or talk to Zero. Full voice interaction with speech recognition and natural spoken responses. Everything processed locally.
• 30+ built-in tools. Web search, file management, calculator, dictionary, weather, timers, clipboard access, screen reading, and more. Zero can actually do things, not just talk.
• Persistent memory. Zero remembers your conversations, learns facts about you, and gets more useful over time. Your memory stays on your machine in a local database.
• Knowledge packs. Download offline Wikipedia databases so Zero can answer factual questions without touching the internet.
• 5 themes. Dark Zero (the default), Light Zero, Soft Pink, Dark Teal, and Classic Carbon.
• Unrestricted mode. Optional. Removes content filtering from the AI models. Adults only.

All of it. Free. No trial period. No feature gates. No "upgrade to Pro" nags.

Why local matters

When you use a cloud AI, your conversations travel to someone else's server. They process your data on their hardware. They store it under their terms. You're the product.

With InnerZero, the AI runs on your GPU. Your conversations live in a SQLite database on your hard drive. Nothing leaves your machine unless you explicitly enable optional cloud features.

You can use InnerZero completely offline. No internet required for local AI.

Optional cloud features

If you want access to more powerful models like Claude, GPT-4, or DeepSeek, you can bring your own API keys. Zero markup. Your keys go directly to the provider. InnerZero never touches them.

There's also an optional cloud voice mode powered by OpenAI that gives you access to 13 natural-sounding voices. But it's off by default. Your choice.

What's next

InnerZero is early software. The models will get better. The features will expand. We're working on cloud AI plans for people who want powerful reasoning without managing API keys.

But the core promise stays the same. The local app is free forever. No catch.

Download InnerZero for free. It takes about 5 minutes to set up. You'll need a Windows PC with at least 16GB RAM. An NVIDIA GPU is recommended but not required.
